Office & Washroom Refurbishment – King’s Lynn, Norfolk
It’s always nice when a client is so happy with their office refurbishment that they volunteer to act as a site showroom for Acorn Works. Stuart, the MD of Setra Wood Products, would be more than happy to host a site visit for any prospective clients.
Project Overview
The project was, on the face of it, a simple office stripout and re-build, however the discovery of some broken pieces of an old asbestos gutter above the ceilings and one of the most uneven concrete sub-floors we have seen, added to the complexity of the works.
The old existing works toilets were very much in need of updating and the client needed to provide a small breakout space for his staff to have lunch away from their desks, along with a more contemporary feel to the office in corporate colours and a good meeting space and document archive, all within a very narrow and long footprint of their building.
Project Delivery
Acorn Works provided temporary office and toilet accommodation on site for the client, and then completely stripped the area, including removing the asbestos using our specialist subcontractor, prior to replacing all the old metal windows with new double glazed PVCu units.
The new drains were cut into the sub-floor, along with new ducts for power and data cabling, and the whole site was then levelled through using a latex screed.
All new partition walls and dry lining were installed, along with comfort cooling heat pumps, ventilation, the new toilets, tea point and a new cleaner’s cupboard and store. The whole office suite was completed with new flooring and decoration, new furniture and shelving.
Acorn Works acted as the client’s agent to secure building control approvals and designed and installed all new power distribution and cabling along with new structured data cabling, as well as dealing with all day-to-day site management and health and safety
