Westcotec (Unit 33), Dereham Norfolk
This unit was the first phase of the project of works for Westcotec. The space which was used as a storage centre for Westcotec and before that an engineering hub, required a major update. We implemented a full strip out of the electrical installation and a heavily edited and refurbished office and welfare block. We transformed this into a thriving production facility opening up the space to provide much more room than before.
The initial works began with a deep clean of the building, pressure washing and cleaning years of grime away.
A new mezzanine floor was installed in the main warehouse area to increase floor area allowing for a production suite to be fitted to the ground floor and storage area to be fitted to the first floor. This mezzanine was set at the same height of the existing storage floors.
The rear area also had new external windows cut in to provide natural light and ventilation, full decoration, new painted floor finished and suspended ceiling. A new lighting installation including infrared heating panels within the ceiling, new partitions walls to separate the area and a complete fit out of new hi spec work benches with a tailored power installation elevating and utilising the space effectively
Further works were carried out to the welfare and office area. This required some fairly heavy demolition works to form the designed layout and make best use of the space. After the removal of some of the existing walls, we built new partitions with dry lining as well to cover up all the internal brick within the office, toilets and canteen area for a smooth painted finish.
A new L shaped kitchen was fitted with tiled splashback and canteen furniture. New shower room, toilets and accessible WC along with an open plan smaller office and a private office complete with new furniture.
This included all decoration, ceilings, flooring, fixture and fittings.
It was an absolute transformation from what it was before to the completed project and moving the production team over into their redesigned work space was a huge success.
