Acorn Works has been working with Quorn Foods recently on extensive refurbishments to their Methwold offices.
We developed and presented proposals to upgrade and improve staff welfare facilities, as well as creating a new reception area and private office space. To give the Quorn Foods team a real choice, a variety of design options were provided, across a range of budget levels. The designs included 3D walkthroughs so that our client could see exactly what we were proposing.
Staff Welfare
The old first floor tea point area was completely stripped out and replaced with a new modern kitchen and instant hot water heater. Once the old tiles had been removed it was clear that the walls needed some love, and were duly repaired and painted.
Next, the main canteen was completely refurbished, a new office and separate private meeting room were created and further decoration and flooring works were conducted.
A Warm Welcome
However, the most dramatic change occurred in the reception area where a complete re-design was planned.
We erected temporary screens while the front of the building was stripped out. To open up the space, provide lots of natural light and create a more welcoming aspect, a glass entranceway and sliding doors were installed to the front of the building.
The existing tiled flooring was removed, as was the glass block dividing wall, a very time consuming piece of work! Once these items had been stripped out, screed was laid to provide a smooth floor level to build the new dividing walls.
The main welcoming area was now separated from a private office. New flooring, ceiling, electrical, decoration and furniture was also fitted to the area to complete the transformation.
