Elite Furniture Golf Day

Acorn Works at Elite Furniture’s 24th Annual Golf Day

Acorn Works was pleased to attend Elite Furniture’s 24th Annual Golf Day at Mottram Hall, joining Elite Furniture staff and industry colleagues for a day of golf, hospitality and conversation. Held at the impressive Mottram Hall in Cheshire, the event brought together familiar faces from across the commercial interiors and office furniture sector. It offered a valuable opportunity to catch up with long-standing contacts, meet others from across the industry and enjoy a well-organised day away from the usual working environment.

For Acorn Works, events like this are an important part of staying connected with the people and businesses that support successful workplace projects. From manufacturers, suppliers and wider industry partners, the day provided a relaxed setting for useful conversations and shared insight. Now in its 24th year, Elite Golf Day has become a well-established fixture in the commercial furniture calendar. This year’s event saw guests take to the course throughout the day before coming together for the evening dinner, awards and after-dinner speech.

The event was organised by the Elite Furniture team, including the brilliant Zoe Hunt, who oversees the day, alongside Sales Director Julian Jowett and Managing Director John Hull. Their attention to detail helped make the event run smoothly from start to finish. While the golf brought plenty of friendly competition, the wider value of the day was in the conversations taking place around the course, in the clubhouse and during the evening event.

Acorn Works works closely with a wide network of suppliers and manufacturers to deliver office refurbishments, commercial interiors, office fit outs and furniture projects. Having strong industry connections helps ensure clients receive the right advice, products and service at every stage, from early design ideas through to furniture selection, installation and aftercare. Supplier events such as Elite Golf Day also give businesses like Acorn Works the chance to stay informed about product developments, discuss changing workplace needs and continue building the partnerships that support future projects.

One of the highlights of the day was the after-dinner speech from Will Carling OBE, former England rugby captain and one of the most recognisable names in British sport. Will brought a strong end to the evening, sharing stories and reflections from his career in leadership, teamwork and elite sport. Keith Hanvey also continued his long-standing role as MC for the event. A former professional footballer who played for clubs including Manchester City, Swansea City, Rochdale, Grimsby Town and Huddersfield Town, Keith helped keep the evening moving and brought his usual experience, personality and questionable humour to the occasion.

Although Acorn Works is best known for designing and delivering commercial interiors, office refurbishments and office furniture solutions, much of that work depends on trusted collaboration behind the scenes. Clients often come to Acorn Works with a practical challenge. They may need more efficient office space, better meeting rooms, improved staff facilities, upgraded furniture or a complete workplace refurbishment. Achieving the right result depends on good design, careful project management, quality products and reliable delivery. Which is why industry events such as Elite Golf Day are worthwhile. They give teams the chance to speak directly with people across the sector, share knowledge and maintain the connections that help turn workplace ideas into finished spaces.

For Acorn Works, the day was also a reminder that the office interiors sector is built on long-term trust. The best projects often come from clear communication, strong product knowledge and a shared commitment to doing the job properly.

We would like to thank Elite Furniture for another excellent golf day and for bringing together so many people from across the industry. It was a pleasure to be part of the event, catch up with familiar faces and enjoy a day at Mottram Hall with colleagues from the wider commercial interiors sector. As Acorn Works continues to support businesses with office refurbishment, workspace design, office fit out and commercial furniture projects, days like this remain an important part of staying connected, informed and ready to deliver practical, high-quality results for clients.
