Meeting Room Refurbishment Project – Haverhill, Suffolk

This international company’s vibrant range of flavours and fragrances was not reflected in its dated oak veneered meeting rooms, redundant Telex rooms and dark magnolia corridors. 

Working closely with the client’s representative over a one and a half year period, Acorn’s themed proposals were eventually merged with ideas and images from IFF’s head office in Hilversum, the Netherlands. The result was a suite of three conference and meeting room refurbishment projects each with a different flavour and feel. The main meeting room was themed on cool and contrasting blues, a second room on fragrant greens and the smallest meeting room on spicy reds.

Following on from the initial make-good and decorate, the rooms were fitted out with British made furniture and storage wall modules in a crisp, clean white finish, with polished aluminium leg details. Working closely with Pledge seating, conference chairs were specified in multi tonal and patterned themed rooms within different colour palettes individually chosen for each space. 

65” LG HD presentation systems gave the spaces a hi-tech feel while toughened glass doors allowed natural light to filter through and into the corridors. Floor and wall finishes were supplied including wall vinyl of different textures from our partners at Newmor Wallcoverings.

The project was completed with energy efficient flat panel LED “sky tile” lighting in suspended ceilings, power and data management, and the introduction of fresh air ventilation to inner rooms. Modern air source heat pumps completed the new environment with seasonal comfort cooling or mild air warming as required. Most importantly, even as it expanded, this project was delivered on time and on budget.
